Just as they are about to go upstairs, the doorbell rings and another visitor arrives. Relieved, Karen excuses herself and goes to open the door. She begins to show them around while the man hovers at the stairs, watching her. After a few moments, he slowly walks up the stairs and disappears.
Two Hours Later
Karen opens the door and shows the final visitor out, thanking them profusely for the visit and urging them to check her other listings out online. The young agent seems desperate. She closes the door and presses herself against it, swearing. All that effort to get the house ready and ANOTHER failure. She had promised the listing agent she would sell it today and she knows they will never give her a chance now. Karen's ears prick up and she fishes in the trash bag for a flyer, handing it to him. 'It's $749,000 asking,' she says. 'But I'm sure the homeowner would be open to negotiate that down a bit.' The man stares at her while she urges him to look over the details again. He smiles. 'I'll take it.'
Karen can't believe it. A huge smile crosses her face as she hugs the man, thanking him profusely. She tells him she'll need to get some paperwork and an initial offer in the books today to meet her quota. The man assures her he wants to offer full list price and, because she was such a great agent, he wants to double her commission. The young woman can't help but jump up and down in excitement. He says yes. 'And will you promise to double the commission, like you said?' He says yes. Karen bites her lips and starts to unbutton her blouse in front of the man.
